Why do we fight? A book about love and freedom

Why do we fight? A book about love and freedom

Manuela d'Ávila is an essential intellectual and politician in our times. She explains contemporary feminism to those who are unfamiliar with or don't yet understand it. With her, it's possible to understand that feminism is everyone's business.

It is a book dedicated especially to young people who want to get involved or want to know more but don't dare to ask.

It is also a conversation, an embrace, and a point of support for reflecting on motherhood and sisterhood, differences and equality, deconstruction and freedom, domestic violence and fear; in short: everything we fight for. The author suggests, but also interacts with the readers, encouraging gathering, sisterhood, and listening to ensure (and to ensure) that women will never be alone again.

With this volume, which begins the collection Latin American Feminisms, CLACSO is launching a new publishing project in collaboration with Siglo XXI (Mexico), releasing a series of books on gender studies and dissident sexualities, women's histories, desires, knowledge, practices, struggles, and also the achievements of rights. At the same time, it is building an essential archive of feminisms in the region.
