Policies and audiovisual production in the digital age in Latin America
This book is the result of research by the CLACSO Working Group “Policies and Audiovisual Production in the Digital Age in Latin America”, which was promoted by the Observatory of the Audiovisual and Infocommunication Sector.
In its pages, the authors focus their reflection on the conditions that countries in the region must meet so that access to new technologies incorporates and is mediated by policies aimed at integration in diversity, cooperative behaviors and the development of creativity, core issues around which humanity and our continent will organize their cultural, symbolic and productive logics to enter the future.
Published by Editorial Octubre, CLACSO and OSAI and compiled by Lucrecia Cardoso, Germán Calvi and Matías Triguboff, the prologue anticipates that “A group of researchers and university professors from various countries across the continent, along with institutions in the audiovisual sector, have come together to share a comprehensive perspective on our studies, generate debate, and communicate experiences we consider valuable. This publication features contributions from members of the CLACSO Working Group from Ecuador, Cuba, Uruguay, Argentina, Mexico, and Bolivia, offering complementary perspectives from academia, cultural management, public policy, political activism, the labor movement, television channels, and third-level organizations. Drawing on successful experiences, challenges, and issues, we have come together to reflect at both national and supranational levels in specific forums such as the MERCOSUR Specialized Meeting on Film and Audiovisual Media (RECAM) and the Conference of Ibero-American Film Authorities (CACI).”
