Public policies in Latin America in response to Covid-19
Latin American Electoral Observatory
The Latin American Electoral Observatory (OBLAT) of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires, with the general coordination of Dr. Inés Nercesian, prepared a detailed report on “Public policies in Latin America in the face of Covid-19 – Argentina and neighboring countries”.
The study – which includes the participation of the CLACSO Working Group “Business Elites, State and Domination” – is divided into three parts and systematizes the main public policies at the national level implemented in the countries in response to the new COVID-19.
The first installment studies Argentina and neighboring countries, taking into account the main policies for controlling the pandemic.

The second part studies Argentina and Latin America, taking into account – as in the first installment – the main policies for controlling the pandemic.

Finally, the third installment is an exploratory report that assesses the current state of the pandemic in the various countries of the region and paves the way for future lines of analysis using a broader range of sources. The study focuses on a total of 19 countries grouped into four regions: Argentina and neighboring countries, South America, the Caribbean, and Central America.
