Condolences for the passing of Héctor Palomino
We regret to announce the passing of the Sociology graduate Hector Palomino, consulting professor at the Gino Germani Research Institute, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Buenos Aires, Republic of Argentina, specializing in labor issues.
Palomino coordinated the CLACSO Working Group “Labor Reforms in Latin America: Approaches and Dialogue” between 2029 and 2022; he was also a professor in the Labor Relations program, a researcher at the Institute of Latin American and Caribbean Studies (IEALC), and a prominent teacher with participation in postgraduate programs and research projects.
Throughout his academic and professional career, he made important contributions to the study of Argentine social structure, the labor market, labor relations, and social organizations.
At CLACSO, he participated in two books: “Trade Unions and New Social Movements in Latin America” and “NAFTA and MERCOSUR. Processes of Economic Opening and Labor”, available in the Latin American and Caribbean Social Science Bookstore.
CLACSO stands with family and colleagues in their grief.
