Thinking about the pandemic from the perspective of the social sciences and humanities
This book brings together the research findings of the eponymous grant awarded by CLACSO to document and reflect on a unique and tragic moment in our recent history: the COVID-19 health crisis. These works offer important policy recommendations that consider the dimensions of gender, ethnicity/race, territory, and class, and which we hope will resonate with the political class and social movements. The case studies are located in Colombia, Cuba, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and Central America, and offer a comparative perspective on the effects of public policies, as well as on structural inequalities. New methodologies had to be created, implemented, revisited, and reconstructed in a constant process that involved both walking and forging the path, at a time of profound pain and a heightened awareness of the historical responsibility to document.
