Both participated in the discussion panel entitled "Research agendas on migration beyond Europe"where the challenges involved in analyzing migrations from a Global South perspective were addressed from a critical perspective.

This panel also included Eduardo Domenech (National University of Córdoba, Argentina), Beatriz Padilla (University of South Florida, USA), Laura Oso (University of A Coruña, Spain), Simone Frangella (Institute of Social Sciences, Portugal), Erika Busse (Macalester College, USA), Lorena Izaguirre (PUC-PE, Peru), and Sebastián Umpierrez de Reguero (Casa Grande University, Ecuador). The debate, which fostered an enriching exchange of ideas and perspectives, was moderated by Eleonore Kofman, Tanja Bastia, and Thais França.
