Towards a transnational history of disability
The new editorial series Critique and Disability, open to social movements, struggle platforms, public policymakers and citizens of Latin America, the Caribbean and the Global South, combines a multiplicity of approaches, trajectories, languages, formats and traditions and proposes itself as a creative, alternative and insurgent force.
This volume, which inaugurates the series, fills a gap in critical disability studies in Latin America: the opportunity to chronicle the struggles in our region for the rights of people with disabilities. Introducing a historical perspective is not only socially and epistemologically relevant but also provides insight into contemporary disability policies.
