 Latin American and Caribbean Observatories of the Working Groups

As part of the initiatives to make the production of the Working Groups visible, to intertwine with other networks and to generate more social, intellectual and political impact and intervention based on rigorous and situated research, various CLACSO Working Groups have launched Observatories with different characteristics.

Based on these initiatives, we share the Observatories created by the CLACSO Working Groups on Childhood and YouthPopular economies: theoretical and practical mappingFeminisms, resistance and emancipationThe research and initiatives developed express the growing commitment to the study and social intervention in Latin America and the Caribbean, addressing regional and global issues of great importance.

These Observatories not only represent a valuable resource for social activism, academia and public policy, but also for the public interested in understanding, interpreting and supporting the various struggles and challenges facing Latin America and the Caribbean today, as well as the experiences that can contribute to overcoming the problems addressed.

The Observatory, the result of collaboration between the Ibero-American Network of Postgraduate Studies in Childhood and Youth (RedINJU) and the CLACSO Working Group on Childhood and YouthIt brings together 152 researchers from 15 different countries. Its goal is to consolidate a database that will allow the
This platform facilitates the circulation of up-to-date and relevant information about children and youth in the region. It serves as a resource for policies and programs focused on improving living conditions and opportunities for Latin American and Caribbean youth.

With the purpose of contributing to the conceptualization of popular economies, the CLACSO Working Group on Popular Economies: Theoretical and Practical Mapping[Organization Name] launched its website, which includes an Observatory providing a constantly updated archive of the multifaceted nature of grassroots economies in Latin America and the Caribbean. Through a wide variety of formats—from academic articles to statements and newsletters—this resource aims to offer a detailed overview of the theoretical and political debates surrounding alternative and community-based economies, essential for understanding the region's economic dynamics.

El CLACSO Working Group on Feminisms, Resistance and Emancipation It has created an Observatory dedicated to monitoring and highlighting the actions and demands of feminist movements in Latin America and the Caribbean. This Observatory not only focuses on documenting and analyzing the struggles for gender justice, but also on providing detailed monitoring of public policies that directly affect women and gender minorities in the region.
