New production and accumulation processes, as well as the appropriation of territories for the development of extractive megaprojects in various sectors, are driven by corporations and governments under the guise of “development,” “democracy,” and “sovereignty.” This is nothing more than a facade for what are essentially mechanisms of transnational capital to justify its pursuit of massive profits in the shortest possible time, with the complicity of governments that resort to authoritarianism to achieve these ends. The people, in turn, have no other recourse than to organize and resist and defend their territories and common resources. This text will analyze various aspects of these processes.
