CLACSO Working Group on Childhood and Youth
Discussions about the multiple social inequalities linked to the human rights of children and young people have thus become a matter of renewed urgency, both regionally and globally. The studies reviewed continue to reveal a complex and troubling set of paradoxes and contrasts, along with a profound social unrest, evident in the emergence of youth movements that, until recently, remained largely invisible in the public sphere but which in recent years have occupied streets and squares in struggle for various issues. These texts aim to foster dialogue among members of the CLACSO Working Group on Childhoods and Youth, the UNAM Youth Research Seminar, and postdoctoral students from the Postdoctoral Research Program in Social Sciences, Childhood and Youth – CINDE – at the University of Manizales, Colombia, in order to exchange analytical approaches that will enrich the critical dialogue of Latin American and Caribbean social thought on this topic.
