Since its creation in 2018, OLIVA has been working to to recognize the richness and diversity of Latin American scientific publishing, building on the extensive regional tradition of academic publishing. This process has been consolidated through three fundamental milestones: the expansion of the number of magazines published in the region, The emergency of public indexing infrastructure —such as Biblat, Latindex, SciELO and Redalyc—, and the international projection of non-commercial open access como modelo alternativo al dominante.
OLIVA's update reinforces its commitment to a fairer and more situated scientific evaluationthat recognizes the contributions of Latin American journals in the face of biases generated by systems concentrated on commercial bases such as Scopus o Web of ScienceWe invite you to explore the new site and learn more about this fundamental tool for rethinking academic assessment from a Latin American perspective.
