The 2024 Book Fair represents and encapsulates the importance that, from our institution, we give to the dissemination of knowledge, research and the various activities of CLACSO through the editorial policy to make them available to everyone.
Once again, CLACSO is present at the Buenos Aires Book Fair in Argentina, continuing our presence at various international book fairs within and outside of Latin America and the Caribbean.
CLACSO's editorial policy is a key element of our daily work, based on the principles of open access and the democratization of knowledge. These have been and continue to be institutional hallmarks, ensuring that all resources and publications are freely accessible.
The topics mentioned allow for the practical democratization of knowledge, moving beyond mere theory. In other words, they enable researchers, students, and the general public to access the resources of CLACSO Publications.
CLACSO's publications showcase the work our institution carries out in various areas, primarily research, to disseminate local research conducted in the different countries of Latin America and the Caribbean as a whole. Furthermore, we emphasize the importance of supporting and publishing this research by diverse academics and highlighting the dynamics of the social sciences, humanities, and arts in the Latin American region.
Our publications maintain a high standard of quality and academic rigor in terms of the content we disseminate. This is evident at the 2024 Buenos Aires Book Fair, reflecting CLACSO's ongoing efforts to promote its work in the social sciences and humanities, as well as its continued participation in international book fairs throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
Today, all the topics discussed are urgent, often critical, such as inequality, human rights, gender issues, climate change, democracies, and migration, among many others. Of course, our open access publishing and dissemination strategy, implemented through the 2024 Buenos Aires Book Fair, also integrates our Platforms for Social Dialogue (PDS) with book presentations and discussions on various current and important topics for the social sciences and humanities.
In short, this CLACSO editorial policy is absolutely fundamental to promoting work in the field of social sciences and humanities. This means high-quality, rigorous work that is accessible and relevant to everyone, and that is also committed to understanding and transforming the social and political realities of Latin America and the Caribbean.
