New publication: Chinese Shadows and Lights
The book "Shadows and Lights in China: Coloniality and Gender in China, Latin America, and the Caribbean“—Karina Bidaseca and Zhang Jingting emphasize— “it highlights the importance of those we call the outspoken, writers considered the subaltern others, whose voices, captured in poems or ethnic literatures, show the vitality of the experiences of coloniality/patriarchy that run through them and their colonial scars, a concept we created to complete that of the colonial wound of Latin American studies.”
In the presentation, Alicia Girón adds that “Karina and Zhang’s book allows us to hear the voices of marginalized women in third-world countries in the contemporary and postcolonial period, where the different contributions of feminism under patriarchal hegemony can be observed.”
