CLACSO Working Group Crisis and World Economy

This book, presented to the reader, is the product of work carried out between 2016 and 2018 within the framework of the Fondecyt Regular research project entitled "Social Employment and Social Protection Plans for (In)equality: The Cases of Brazil, Chile, and Venezuela (2005-2013)." This project brought together various intellectuals and experts to reflect on Development Models in Latin America, considering their objectives, tensions, and challenges.

We were interested in focusing our concern on the visibility and analysis of the relationship between ideology, development models and public-social policies of the State for the countries and the region, because in Latin America, from 2000 onwards, various governments set out to promote alternative policies to the neoliberal development model, inaugurating the “progressive cycle” in the region under what was defined as Neodevelopmentalism, Socialism of the 21st Century and/or Good Living.
