 The University of the African Diaspora was born

The University of the African Diaspora was born, promoted from the CLACSO Working Group on Afro-descendants and counter-hegemonic proposals.

On Monday, June 28, 2021, the first training course on the promotion of rights and affirmative policies for the Afro-descendant population was held, with 22 scholarships awarded to students from Améfrica Ladina.

The initiative has the participation of a teaching team led by Prof. Dr. Rosa Campoalegre Septien (CIPS, Cuba), Prof. Dr. Claudia Miranda (UNIRIO, Brazil), Prof. Dr. Felicitas Regla López Sotolongo (Cuba), Prof. Dr. Lais Abramo (USP), Lic. Carlos Nazareno Alvarez (Uniafro/IDAES-UNSAM, Argentina) and Prof. Dr. Karina Bidaseca (Uniafro/ IDAES-UNSAM, Argentina) and Luis Oswaldo Martelo Ortiz (Colombia) as tutor.
