Many people contributed to the success of #CLACSO2025

The X Latin American and Caribbean Conference of Social Sciences came to an end, with great success in the participation of exhibitors and participants in general, in the three venues where the activities multiplied in Bogotá: the National University of Colombia (UNAL), the Higher School of Public Administration (ESAP) and in the Agora.

It is impossible to name everyone: speakers, students, technical support staff, the institutions that have contributed in various ways to its organization, the Colombian public media as official channels of #CLACSO2025, not forgetting the great effort of the members of the Executive Secretariat who redoubled their efforts for the greatest success of the Conference.

On behalf of the CLACSO Network, the Executive Director of CLACSO Karina Batthyány He sent notes of thanks to the organizers of the venues, on behalf of their leaders: Leopoldo Múnera Ruiz, Rector of UNAL; Jorge Iván Bula Escobar, Director of ESAP; and Carolina Jiménez Martín as Vice-Rector of UNAL Bogotá and member of the CLACSO Steering Committee for Colombia, where the Council was born 68 years ago, in 1967.

We also want to warmly thank RTVC, the official channel of #CLACSO2025, united in the defense of public media and the circulation of the word.

The contributions of each individual “enhance this great regional and global gathering of the social sciences, humanities, and arts, which will undoubtedly empower academics, researchers, teachers, and students in the face of the great challenges of the present and the future,” says Batthyány, who specifies “that we renew our call to academia, social movements, and public policymakers to close ranks in defense of democratic values, at a time when in Our America and other regions of the world we are witnessing an advance of extreme right-wing forces willing to take away the most basic public freedoms.”

“Thank you Colombia!”, the note concludes, highlighting everything that was generated in 4 days of conference and that injects strength, proposals and challenges for the future.
