The current situation in Latin America and the Caribbean reveals a landscape of profound inequalities regarding migration and human mobility. The last decade has seen not only a tightening of immigration controls in the United States, but also in South American countries where such policies were not previously the norm. Furthermore, a shift in the region's historical migration pattern is evident, with increased migration flows and the deteriorating conditions of migrants, while non-punitive public policies prove insufficient or scarce. Meanwhile, migrants continue to organize and resist through diverse collectives and movements. This book presents the results of the winning projects from the CLACSO research call, "Migration and Human Mobility: Conflicts, Policies, and Rights Before, During, and After the Pandemic," which aims to contribute to the reflection on these issues by developing approaches that foster greater collaboration between academia and the public and social management of migration.
