Panel discussion: "Memory and history of the origins of CIESAS Southeast"

AS PART OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF CIESAS, THE PANEL "MEMORY AND HISTORY OF THE ORIGINS OF CIESAS SOUTHEAST" WAS HELD
In these "Zoom conversations," we have invited Dr. Andrés Fábregas, Dr. Graciela Freyermuth, Dr. Martha E. Villalobos, Dr. Gabriel Macías, Dr. Patricia Fortuny, Dr. Elizabeth Juárez, Dr. Xóchitl Leyva, coordinator of the CLACSO Working Group on Bodies, Territories, and Resistance, and Dr. Aracely Burguete to briefly discuss the origins of CIESAS Southeast: the pioneering Southern Border project, the social and political conditions of the time, and the central themes that developed throughout the Southeast region, leading to the beginning of what is now the Southeast unit. All of this is intended to commemorate and reaffirm the contribution of Southeast to CIESAS as a whole, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2023. We also have photographic material from the personal archive of Dr. Antonio Higuera.
