Motherhood and fatherhood in Latin America and the Caribbean today

On Thursday, November 13, the CLACSO Working Group “Critical Studies in Motherhood and Fatherhood” invites you to the seminar-workshop “Motherhood and fatherhood in Latin America and the Caribbean today: dialogues between research and social action”, a space for collective reflection on ethical-methodological decisions regarding research on motherhood-fatherhood, care, upbringing and families.
The objective is to discuss collaborative knowledge production, confidentiality, consent, feedback, and joint work strategies between academia, civil society, public policy, and social movements.
In a global context where the “usefulness” of the Human and Social Sciences is being questioned, this seminar-workshop seeks to demonstrate the relevance of a critical, situated and polyphonic thinking that transcends the limits of extractive research.
