Teachers in Latin America
This book, co-published with the National University of San Marcos, seeks to contribute to the construction of a social history of teachers through biographical essays about individuals who did not necessarily achieve renown for their political or intellectual activism, but who nevertheless had significant experiences in their time. The period covered by these biographies ranges from the emergence of public schools to the crisis of the liberal framework that accompanied the expansion of educational opportunities. With narratives spanning from Colombia to Argentina, this collection of stories offers a deeper understanding of the lives of educators and, through them, contributes to the construction of a social history that has been little studied until now.
