Fighting in the interregnum

The latest volume of the Miradas Latinoamericanas collection, Un Estado del Debate, is now available in print format. It was published in co-edition between CLACSO and Siglo XXI Editores , as a result of the third edition of the open call of the same name.

Edited by Maristella Svampa , Breno Bringel, and Massimo Modonesi , the book provides insights into the recent transformations of Latin American social movements within a context marked by the tensions between progressive movements, the rise of the radical right, and the deepening of multiple crises. Through a critical lens, it recovers experiences of struggle and collective action that explore new forms of solidarity and challenge political power.

The work is situated in the turbulent interregnum that opened after the exhaustion of the progressive cycle and the irruption of authoritarian forces in the region, offering analytical tools to think about the challenges and horizons of social movements in contemporary Latin America.
