Care in Latin America: Challenges and Opportunities for Medellín

On Tuesday, November 23, the Women's Secretariat of the Mayor's Office of Medellín, Colombia, organized the Conversation “Care in Latin America: Challenges and Opportunities for Medellín”, with the participation of Karina Batthyány, Executive Secretary of CLACSO.

The announcement states: “In building the Medellín of the Future, we are committed to recognizing care as a right. That is why, this Tuesday, November 23, at the Dann Carlton Belfort Hotel, we will open a space to reflect on the importance of care in sustaining life and the economy.

The Public Policy for Gender Equality of Urban and Rural Women of the Municipality of Medellín, Agreement 102 of 2018, establishes as a goal to reduce the time spent on unpaid domestic and care work in women's lives, so that they can access other types of opportunities such as education, training, recreation, self-care, socialization and access to their rights.”
