The Knowledge Network for the Right to Education from the Global South (REGS) is based on the long-standing cooperative and exchange relationships between the Arab Council of Social Sciences (ACSS), the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA), and the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO). Its mission is to study, produce knowledge, advocate for, and disseminate information on the right to education from a Global South perspective. In August 2023, the REGS International School was held at the Polytechnic University of Mozambique. This in-person forum fostered dialogue, exchange, integration, and regional solidarity among participants, focusing on the concept of the Global South, its potential, limitations, and implications for education from the perspective of the right to education, with particular attention to higher education. The event was enriched by the analysis of various historical and contemporary alternative experiences in the Global South that aim to address and reverse existing educational inequalities. This book recounts the events of this extremely enriching and productive experience.
