The peripheries of work

 The peripheries of work

Hernán M. Palermo y María Lorena Capogrossi (coords.)

This book, the result of a collaboration between the Complutense University of Madrid, CEIL-CONICET and CIECS-CONICET-UNC, brings together research from America, Europe and Asia to problematize the world of work in contemporary capitalism.

The current historical moment reveals a structural shift in the center of gravity of the world-system toward the East. This shift implies a profound transformation in the logics of accumulation and the international division of labor. In this reorganization, processes of peripheralization transcend the classic North-South divide and establish themselves as a condition that no longer recognizes fixed borders or stable geographies. Furthermore, these new logics are accompanied by the production of neoliberalized populations upon which the processes of capital valorization are based.

Through an interdisciplinary dialogue, the text materializes a collective commitment to producing critical tools capable of understanding current labor dynamics and the challenges faced by the working class.
