 The New Faces of Fascism

The Department of Philosophy at the Central American University José Simeón Cañas of El Salvador (UCA) invites you to enroll in the virtual course “The New Faces of Fascism: Roots, Manifestations and Resistances “.

From January 24 to May 30, Saturdays from 9 to 11 am El Salvador time (UTC-6).


Aimed at students and teachers of social sciences and humanities, employees of non-governmental organizations and people interested in deepening their humanistic training.

Objectives:
(a) to make a political reflection on fascism and some of the premises on which it is based;
(b) critically explore some expressions of fascism: technological fascism, posthumanism and critique from feminist and theological perspectives; and
(c) to discuss the economic principles of fascism and to give an account of some alternative experiences and approaches.

Modules:
Fascisms: conceptual and historical roots.
The attack on human rights: digital capitalism, tradition and misogyny.
Market totalitarianism and necrocapitalism: Minimal state, fundamentalism and xenophobia.
Alternatives and resistance: community, imagination, ethics and solidarity.
