The wars of the 21st century

The wars of the 21st century

This book, a co-publication of CLACSO and UNAM, analyzes how the ways of conceiving and waging war have changed in our century, in response to key factors stemming from both shifts in political organization and technological advancements. Not only have the aesthetics of war, the lethal capacity of attackers, the meanings of intervention, the tools employed, the technologies, the styles, and the methods changed, but also its protagonists, the challenges, and its very conception. The new millennium began with ways of understanding and waging war very different from those inherited from past experiences, substantially altering its conception and practices.
