Official launch of the Second Edition of the Ibero-American Congress on Open Science and presentation of the PRC Model
FOLEC-CLACSO invites you to participate in the official launch of the second edition of Ibero-American Congress of Open Science, to be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 amThis event marks the beginning of a new cycle of dialogue, collaboration, and collective building around a more open, inclusive science situated in the realities of our region.
This session will also include the presentation of PRC Model (Publish – Review – Curate): a proposal adopted by Congress as an alternative to traditional scientific publishing circuits. The activity will feature the participation of Isabel Abedrapo (Master in Digital Information Systems and Data Science), who will share their experience with this model. Also present will be members of the Congress Organizing Committee: Luis Montilla (Crossref), Saray Córdoba (LATINDEX) and Gabriel Vélez (University of Antioquia), who will provide details about the spirit and scope of this new edition of the Congress. The activity will be moderated by Francisco Silva-Garcés (OpenLab Ecuador and UTE University).
This activity is part of the Conference Discovering Open Science 2025 and is open to the entire community interested in transforming the ways of producing, sharing and validating knowledge.
