Official launch of the Second Edition of the Ibero-American Congress on Open Science and presentation of the PRC Model

FOLEC-CLACSO invites you to participate in the official launch of the second Ibero-American Open Science Congress , which will take place on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM . This event marks the beginning of a new cycle of dialogue, collaboration, and collective construction around a more open, inclusive science grounded in the realities of our region.

This session will also present the PRC Model (Publish – Review – Curate): a proposal adopted by Congress as an alternative to traditional scientific publishing circuits. More than a technical framework, the PRC promotes openness, collaborative peer review, and collective knowledge curation, encouraging open dialogue among those who research, review, and produce knowledge from diverse contexts.

The event will feature Isabel Abedrapo (Master in Digital Information Systems and Data Science), who will share her experience with this model. Also present will be members of the Congress Organizing Committee: Luis Montilla (Crossref), Saray Córdoba (LATINDEX), and Gabriel Vélez (University of Antioquia), who will provide details about the spirit and scope of this new edition of the Congress. The event will be moderated by Francisco Silva-Garcés (OpenLab Ecuador and UTE University).

This activity is part of the Discovering Open Science 2025 Conference and is open to the entire community interested in transforming the ways of producing, sharing and validating knowledge.
