CLACSO Working Group on the Left: Praxis and Social Transformation
What place does the left occupy in national histories and, consequently, of course, in Latin American history? This is the fundamental question that has guided the various chapters of this book. It is not a question that can be resolved merely by pointing out its existence, but rather it is important to understand how our conventional understanding of history changes in light of what emerges from our research; in other words, it is not about creating a ghetto for studies of the history of the left, but about transforming the whole of history through the inclusion of a central component.
