"The reactionary International is opportunistic."

Within the framework of the activity Advance of the right wing in the world, organized by CLACSO on March 20 in Buenos Aires, David Adler, General Coordinator of the Progressive International, spoke with CLACSO.tv.

Referring to the Reactionary International, Adler denied that it was a conspiracy: “If you study it, focus on it, and examine events like coups, assassinations, etc., you see that it is an opportunistic international. Yes, they manage to convene and deepen ties among themselves in forums, but they mobilize at the opportune moment to take advantage of the situation, creating a new structure that represents a political opportunity.”

Using the example of the coup in Bolivia, he explained that “they gradually develop, year by year, a reaction network prepared for any rupture. And the rupture comes with the protests against Evo, with the claim of fraud by the OAS. And it mobilizes. It mobilizes everything: the church mobilizes, the GRI mobilizes, business mobilizes, lithium.”

“So, it’s important not to fall into the trap of thinking that the reaction is always planned. No, they develop a network and take advantage of an opportunity to deploy their forces there,” he concluded.
