Karina Batthyány, the first Uruguayan to hold the CLACSO executive secretariat

A few days ago, sociologist Karina Batthyány assumed the executive secretariat of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) for three years, becoming the first Uruguayan to hold this position, which was previously occupied by the Argentinian Pablo Gentili. CLACSO is a prestigious organization that focuses its work in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprised of a network of more than 650 institutions and academic associations in the fields of social sciences and humanities.
