As part of Anti-racist MarchThese conferences invite us to reflect on and build collective memory from an ethnic and racial perspective. Slavery and the transatlantic slave trade constitute the historical foundation upon which the modern world-system was built, an experience that profoundly permeates the history and memory of Latin American peoples.

Reflecting on memory also means understanding that the consequences of structural racism remain present in all areas of our society. In a context of dismantling public policies and institutional setbacks in human rights, these spaces for encounter and debate become more necessary than ever.

The IV Conference on Memory, Racism and Hate Speech They seek to deepen the analysis of the economic, political and social consequences of crimes against humanity, as well as to strengthen an active and critical memory in the face of the advance of racist, fascist and denialist discourses.
