The webinar will address current tensions and trends in the global scientific evaluation system and the need for a transformation of science evaluation in Latin America and the Caribbean. It will analyze the diverse evaluative cultures and indicators of scientific output from the periphery, as well as the paradigm shift in evaluation systems and the construction of prestige. Finally, it will discuss the progress of UNESCO's initiative for a Recommendation on Open Science and the contribution of Latin America and the Caribbean to developing a regional perspective.

PhD in Political and Social Sciences, Argentina. Principal Investigator at CONICET and Full Professor at the National University of Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina. She is the Director of the Center for the Study of Knowledge Circulation (CECIC). https://cecic.fcp.uncuyo.edu.ar/ and chairs the UNESCO Advisory Committee for Open Science.
