Invitation to the Regional Workshop: "Transformation of research systems: from the present to the future"

Within the framework of the X CLACSO Conference 2025

In the context of the X Latin American and Caribbean Conference of Social Sciences “Horizons and Transformations for Equality. Democracies, Resistance, Communities, Rights and Peace”, which will take place from June 9 to 12, 2025 in Bogotá, Colombia —with venues at the National University of Colombia (Bogotá Campus), Ágora Bogotá and the Higher School of Public Administration (ESAP)—, we invite you to participate in the regional workshop “Transformation of research systems: from the present to the future”.

This activity will take place on Thursday, June 12th, in the morning (We will confirm the specific time and room soon.) at the National University of Colombia, Bogotá Campus.

The activity is organized by CIPPEC, HubLAC, Purpose&Ideas and IDRC, and has the support of the Latin American Forum on Scientific Evaluation (FOLEC-CLACSO)It brings together key players in the regional scientific ecosystem to reflect on past experiences, explore emerging trends, envision future scenarios, and identify strategic opportunities for transformation. The event will be conducted using a participatory methodology. FutureSearch, which facilitates the collective construction of future visions with a collaborative and action-oriented approach.

We seek to build a shared vision that engages with current challenges, builds upon past experiences, and activates the region's strengths toward a more relevant, equitable, and transformative science. The workshop's contributions will enrich the FOLEC agenda, particularly regarding the redesign of policies and models for scientific evaluation situated within the realities of Latin America and the Caribbean.
