Agroecological research in the Andes
CLACSO participates from December 2nd to 6th in Lima, Peru, in the Second International Seminar of the McKnight Foundation which is titled: “Research and training program in Andean agroecological systems.”

Gustavo Lema interviewed Roberto Ugas and Karina Bidaseca

On Monday the 2nd, at the opening of the Seminar, Professor Roberto Ugas presented the McKnight team, the Executive Secretary of CLACSO and the Director of Research, Karina Batthyany and Pablo Vommaro, did the same with the Latin American Council of Social Sciences, while Karina Bidaseca spoke about the Scholarship Program.

The following days will feature project presentations, panels, and lectures, with the participation of leading scientists and academics from Latin America and the Caribbean. Field trips and meetings between fellows, mentors, and directors are also planned.

The McKnight Collaborative Crop Research Program, a Minneapolis-based foundation in the United States, funds collaborative research among small-scale farmers, researchers, and development promoters to generate knowledge that contributes to achieving sustainable agroecological systems.
