Institute for Research and Outreach on the State – Guatemala

The Institute for Research and Outreach on the State (ISE) is an academic organization with a social outreach focus, belonging to the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Outreach at Rafael Landívar University. Composed of a multidisciplinary team of social science professionals, it conducts research and outreach within the framework of the State Refounding Program (PRE).
Their specific skills are:
Organize and direct multi, inter and transdisciplinary research processes, disseminate products, results and their use in training, impact and university projection.
To provide scientific support to university proposals for structural reforms of society.
To provide knowledge, information, accumulated experience and proposals, to raise capacities and design solutions to problems of people, groups, communities and their environment, especially the poor, who suffer and are the most vulnerable.
To evaluate the capabilities and performance of social life organization systems to meet needs.
To strengthen the academic capacity of university outreach through research, reflection and debate, technical cooperation and advice to bring about transformative outcomes in reality.
Analyze the consequences of certain modalities and approaches to public policies and private actions.
Design and implement, in conjunction with the Academic Vice-Rector's Office and faculties, coordinated work mechanisms to strengthen teaching, formative research, and international accreditation.
To plan and systematize research and projection, monitoring and evaluation.
