Catalan Institute of Anthropology, Catalonia
The Institut Català d'Antropologia-ICA is a non-profit association, founded in 1978 at the initiative of a group of anthropologists in response to the need to open new perspectives and ways of working.
The Catalan Institute of Anthropology (ICA) works to disseminate, reflect upon, discuss, and deepen anthropological research, and to forge connections with Catalan society and culture. Among the organization's main functions are: forming working groups, organizing activities that contribute to the dissemination of the discipline, publishing journals such as the open-access scientific journal Quaderns, as well as other monographs on various topics of interest. It also promotes research through calls for proposals aimed at its members and the creation of a Research Prize: Perspectives from Anthropology.
It currently has more than 400 members.
