Hispanic-American independence and class struggle

 Hispanic-American independence and class struggle

Beluche's work is a valuable contribution to analyzing the independence movements in the various countries of our region, from a perspective that considers not only nationalist struggles but also class struggles. Beyond the debate among specialists and interested parties, this book seeks to analyze history in order to intervene critically and rationally in the present, which entails interpreting events and not merely recounting them.

Far from any illusion of value neutrality, objectivity in historical-social knowledge lies in the effort to grasp the dynamics of the social process, in order to influence social reality by promoting trends that aim at expanding human possibilities, realizing freedom, and enriching life.
