Tribute to Enrique Dussel 1934-2023
On Wednesday, November 8, at 16:00 PM Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Brazil time (UTC-3), a new program from the fourth season of InfoCLACSO will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel and the Facebook and LinkedIn profiles.
Last Sunday, November 5, a teacher and researcher very close to CLACSO passed away in Mexico City. Henry DusselAn academic, philosopher, historian, and theologian at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Dussel leaves a great legacy for his work in the fields of ethics, political philosophy, and Latin American philosophy. He was and will undoubtedly continue to be one of the leading figures in the decolonial perspective and one of the fathers of the Philosophy of Liberation.
Let us remember that he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in Social Sciences at the 9th Latin American and Caribbean Conference of Social Sciences in Mexico in June 2022 and that he also graced the Academic Council of the CLACSO journal Tramas y Redes with his presence.
In this special InfoCLACSO program, we retrieve his words from several interviews for CLACSO.tv and from some of his participations in forums and conferences organized by our Council, in addition to testimonies from colleagues who highlight the importance of his work and his legacy.
