Making History
This book comprises a series of essays whose objective is to pose research problems in History. It is not a methodological guide, but rather an exploration of how some historians have approached their work and developed diverse approaches that have allowed them to find answers. None of the authors in this volume belong to the same “historical school,” and in fact, there is little agreement regarding theoretical approaches and historiographical perspectives. It is these contrasts, arising from their practices as researchers, that we believe are valuable. The aim is to present problems and suggestions to future historians so that, by opening their minds and making their practices more flexible, they can each find their own method for “doing history.”
