Edited by Esteban Torres and Guilherme Leite Gonçalves, this work seeks to advance two objectives. The first is to enrich the discussion with German critical sociology, and in particular with one of the most vigorous left-wing sociological groups in Europe: the so-called “Jena School,” whose leading figures include Klaus Dörre, Stephan Lessenich, and Hartmut Rosa. The second objective, more significant for the future of the region, aims at the progressive development of a new sociology of capitalism and social change from and for Latin America.
