This book in CLACSO's "Dialogues" series, co-published with Friedrich Schiller University Jena, seeks to advance two objectives. The first is to enrich the discussion with German critical sociology, and in particular with one of the most vigorous left-wing sociological groups in Europe: the "Jena School," whose leading figures include Klaus Dörre, Stephan Lessenich, and Harmut Rosa. The second objective, more significant for the region's future, aims at the progressive development of a new sociology of capitalism and social change from and for Latin America.
