Towards the 10th Latin American and Caribbean Conference of Social Sciences

By resolution adopted on October 18 and 19 in Panama at the 109th Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences, the 10th Latin American and Caribbean Conference of Social Sciences #CLACSO2025 will be held in Bogotá, Colombia, in mid-2025.

The selection of Colombia as the host country is undoubtedly a reflection of the political, social and educational process of the Caribbean country and of the many joint actions with CLACSO in recent years, in addition to the great development of CLACSO Member Centers in Colombia.

The Latin American and Caribbean Conference of Social Sciences (CLACSO) has been, since its first edition in 2003, the largest academic and political event in the Social Sciences and Humanities worldwide. In its nine previous editions, which coincided with the General Assemblies of the Council, diverse themes have been addressed in response to the political and social circumstances of the region. In the case of #CLACSO2022 at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the central theme was the web of inequalities.

The representativeness that the CLACSO network has achieved throughout its 56 years of activity, as well as its broad prestige in training, research and dissemination in Social Sciences and Humanities, promise to make the 10th Conference in Bogotá a powerful space for dialogue and exchange between academia, public policies and social movements, making this event one of the most important and visible academic activities worldwide planned for 2025.
