This book aims to reflect on the many ways in which religions or spiritual practices—the division between these two categories can be superficial—manifest themselves when they become involved in movements and cross borders. More specifically, the chapters of this book seek to answer questions such as: What happens when beliefs, ideas, practices, people, and religious mechanisms cross borders? What religious, or other, transformations emerge at the crossing of borders? What kind of borders are called into question by reflecting on religious phenomena in motion? To delve into what this volume proposes, it is worthwhile to examine some key concepts, such as movement and border, and their connections to religion.
