El Special Group Al Zeytun Magazine/CLACSO Palestine and Latin AmericaIt was formed in 2019 as an urgent necessity, arising from the Middle East and Latin America Working Group, to give greater visibility to the "Palestinian Question" and the forms of resistance in common with other peoples.
This group aims to examine the various epistemic elements from a Southern perspective and how, from this region, we can contribute to proposing a just, sustainable, and internationally law-based solution for the Palestinian situation and that of other groups in similar circumstances. Our group will also strengthen the South-South Program promoted by CLACSO and collaborate with other Working Groups. The fundamental intention is to foster relations between Palestine, the Mediterranean, South America and the Caribbean, as well as other countries and regions. Through different lines of research and conceptual contributions (e.g., definitions of apartheid, resistance/re-existence, colonialism, coloniality/decoloniality), we hope to improve our understanding of the Palestinian reality and other related issues. Therefore, through academic dialogue, cooperation, and critical thinking, and through the conclusions and their dissemination, we hope to promote policies aimed at achieving peace.
