Borders, regionalization and globalization
The CLACSO Working Group on Borders, Regionalization and Globalization was selected for the period 2016-2019, and has been maintained in the periods 2019-2022 and 2023-2025.
This GT already existed since the 1980s as an Alternative Research Network (ARN), with researchers from various institutions and social organizations from several countries on the continent and in Europe.
Since 2016 we have been developing the collective project “Global Spaces for the expansion of transnational capital in the American Continent”, with a neo-Marxist theoretical approach, and with a methodology developed from the RAI, which we call “Research for Action”.
The working mechanisms used are workshops for theoretical-methodological analysis and discussion, current events and with organizations and social movements and others similar, the participation of members of the GT in panels, symposia, tables and forums in international congresses with final plenary sessions of the GT to discuss and make agreements and the signing of letters of intent between the GT and social organizations for joint and participatory collaboration in the analysis of problems that impact their territories, common goods and their life and community organization.
Our GT is one of the largest and has 60% men and 40% women.
