National Education Front: an Argentine and Latin American project
The First ConferenceNational Education Front: an Argentine and Latin American project"These events will take place on August 7 and 8 at the Floreal Gorini Cultural Center of Cooperation (CCC) in Buenos Aires, convened by CLACSO, CTERA, CCC-IMFC, RED ESTRADO, ALIE and AGCE.
On May 22, 2026, teachers' unions convened the "Open Assembly for Public Education," an occasion on which the "National Education Front" was launched as a response to the policies of dismantling public education and as the construction of a cultural, political, pedagogical and organizational alternative that paves the way for an education that contributes to a collective Argentine and Latin American project.
On August 7th and 8th, a group of organizations, institutions, and collectives in the field of education convened to continue this creative process, inviting participants to two days of work aimed at reflecting on, exchanging, and collaboratively developing the core ideas of an educational program and strengthening ties to consolidate the "National Educational Front." In this same spirit, we encourage the inclusion of diverse, pluralistic, and inclusive individuals who can contribute to enriching this shared journey.
Among other activities, Pablo VommaroThe Executive Director of CLACSO will join the Opening Panel on Friday the 7th, along with Sonia Alesso (Ctera), Nora Gluz (Red Estrado/Alie), Pablo Imen (CCC /AGCE) Juan Carlos Junio, coordinated by Gabriela Nacht.
Also, on the same day, Graciela Castro, from the CLACSO Steering Committee for Argentina, will coordinate the panel “Education according to the 21st Century Right: A Critical Reading of its Proposals and Policies” which includes Adriana Serquis, Graciela Morgade y Myriam Feldfeber.
The main objectives of the Front are:
-Defense of public education: Guarantee the right to study and teach without cuts.
-Regional unity (Our American): To think about study programs and values that unite the countries of Latin America from a sovereign perspective.
-Better working conditions: Demand fair wages and stable employment for teachers.
