Academic program
General Purpose
- The objective of the Doctorate is to train high-level researchers in the field of administration, with the ability to generate scientific knowledge that responds to organizational, social, political, economic and cultural needs, as well as to develop and strengthen research skills that allow future doctors to solve problems specific to the field of knowledge.
Specific objectives
a) To train independent researchers in the field of administration, who contribute to the construction of universal, scientifically valid knowledge and particular knowledge pertinent and relevant to Latin America and the Caribbean, both in the theoretical field and in practical processes.
b) To provide theoretical and methodological training so that they can analyze, formulate and evaluate policies and projects associated with organizational phenomena from administrative, ethical, political, economic and social dimensions.
c) To train doctors in the field of administration with the ability to approach organizational, management and social and human development theories with a critical and self-reflective perspective so that they can transfer them to the context and present solutions to the multiple problems that Latin American organizations must face.
d) To promote among PhD participants the culture of written production, publication and public confrontation with academic peers in national and international settings.
e) To systematize and deepen the knowledge of the Latin American organizational phenomenon, characterized in its historical perspective, enabling the participants of the Doctorate conceptually and operationally to influence the change, transformation, knowledge and social and human development of the same.
f) Develop research in Colombia and Latin America, through participation in networks, with the aim of building knowledge specific to the region, seeking application alternatives appropriate to the conditions and idiosyncrasies of local organizations.
g) To produce and transmit knowledge in the field of administration from a systemic, interdisciplinary and participatory approach, aimed at solving organizational problems in the country and the region.

Graduates of the Doctorate in Administration at the University of Manizales will have developed the following competencies:
• High-level research capacity that contributes to the construction of universal knowledge and to the production and transfer of administrative knowledge.
• To provide high-level university teaching with an emphasis on research for the generation of knowledge in the field of administration.
• Promote and develop research to generate local knowledge that will allow regions to be more competitive.
• Formulate and execute applied research projects with global, national or local impact, from an ethical and fair perspective with the need for improvement and humanization of organizational processes.
• High-level research capacity that contributes to the construction of universal knowledge and to the production and transfer of administrative knowledge.
• To provide high-level university teaching with an emphasis on research for the generation of knowledge in the field of administration.
• Promote and develop research to generate local knowledge that will allow regions to be more competitive.
• Formulate and execute applied research projects with global, national or local impact, from an ethical and fair perspective with the need for improvement and humanization of organizational processes.
Applicants to the program must meet the following requirements:

c. Submit a letter in which you commit to completing the internship abroad for a minimum of four (4) weeks, during the doctoral study period.
d. Certificate of commitment from the institution to which the participant is linked, specifying the support for participating in the doctoral activities.
e. Two letters of recommendation from professors that certify the academic trajectory.
f. Civil registry, 3 color photos size 3X4 and photocopy of the identity card and military booklet (men).
