Academic program
General objectives
To train researchers, teachers, consultants and professionals of high academic level who, through rigorous training, contribute positively to promoting scientific development, improving the quality of university education, competent professional practice in various areas of application, and the effective implementation of social, economic and cultural policies that favor the integration and social promotion of the countries of the region.
To promote the knowledge and appropriation of theoretical and methodological tools for the understanding and evaluation of Latin American societies.
Develop a multidisciplinary perspective to understand the problems related to Latin America within the framework of the social sciences.
To promote a space for broad reflection and exchange about the pressing challenges and dilemmas facing the region in the new century.
Specific objectives
To plan and develop research in the field of Latin American studies.
To develop methods and studies that contribute to the understanding of our reality and promote the integration of Latin America.
Form interdisciplinary teams for the design of social and cultural projects that result in real benefits for the community.
To examine and evaluate the various integration processes in Latin America and their viability in the current international context.
To stimulate the capacity to contribute creatively to the production of knowledge about Latin America and to the search for alternatives for the social, economic, institutional and cultural development of the region.
Understanding the specificity of social actors, structures and dynamics of Latin American societies, their mutual imbrications and their articulation.
