Academic program

To train professionals in the field of Development, Sustainability and Tourism, from a theoretical and practical perspective, with the capacity for research that allows them to undertake processes of generating new knowledge and propose solutions from an integral perspective, in addition to contributing to the training of human resources.
Knowledge of: Social, cultural, and environmental issues in their various manifestations; particularly in the processes of Development, Sustainability, and Tourism, at diverse levels (local, regional, national, and international), from an inter- and transdisciplinary perspective, based on theoretical, methodological, and instrumental knowledge, with systemic, critical, and reflective thinking. Ability to: Propose and develop research projects focused on resolving the problems of Development, Sustainability, and Tourism in local, national, and international institutions and associations. Design and undertake actions related to collaboration, advising, management, development, and evaluation of public or private investment projects. Furthermore, graduates will possess the academic foundation to pursue doctoral studies in high-quality programs that include similar lines of research or to participate in educational institutions as research professors. Values ​​and Attitudes: Commitment to rigor, ethics, honesty, and social responsibility in research and knowledge dissemination, as well as in professional practice. Contribution to the development of civic responsibility, starting with the education and awareness-raising of new generations, regarding the challenges facing humanity and society in the global process, with tolerance and respect for diversity and cultural differences.
Bachelor's degree in the areas of Social Sciences, Economics and Administration, or Environmental Sciences. Demonstrate proficiency in at least one foreign language, as determined by a reading comprehension exam administered by the Department of International Studies and Foreign Languages ​​at CUCOSTA. Pass the EXANI III exam administered by CENEVAL. Complete a preparatory course offered by the Academic Board. Participate in an interview with members of the Academic Board to assess your interest, profile, and the conditions that will facilitate your successful participation in the program and potential graduation. Submit a research proposal, which will serve as the basis for your dissertation, aligned with the Research and Social Impact Lines (LIES) of the program, endorsed by a professor in the Doctoral program, and approved by the Academic Board. Full-time dedication and any additional commitments established in the call for applications.
