Academic program

General Objective:
To contribute to the training of researchers in the field of Natural Sciences Education with the ability to generate knowledge, innovate, solve problems and contribute to the analysis of situations of a disciplinary and interdisciplinary nature through the appropriation of knowledge, methodologies and scientific developments in the area.
Specific objectives:
To train Science Education professionals who are ethically committed to scientific, cultural and social development.
To generate research that responds to the needs and problems of science education, in formal, non-formal and unconventional environments.
To train researchers who help consolidate research groups and promote the generation of new lines of research.
To contribute to the theoretical and methodological development of the different dimensions of Science Education in accordance with the social and cultural reality of each context.
To contribute to the strengthening of the national academic community, bringing students closer to information and communication technologies in the field of Science Education.
To create the conditions for dialogue and academic exchange, by promoting national and international events in the area.
Commitment to contributing to the advancement of pedagogical and didactic knowledge and to the design of innovative programs and projects in the teaching and learning of natural sciences;
High ethical and social responsibility, sensitive to the challenges of Science Education and promoter of initiatives to address them;
Extensive command of qualitative and quantitative theories and methodologies to address theoretical and methodological problems specific to Science Education;
Intellectual autonomy and sufficient cognitive independence to access and understand the new scientific knowledge that is constantly being generated, and to establish dialogue with national peer communities.
1. Diploma or degree certificate accrediting a professional degree in the field of science education, or in a related area as determined by the Program Committee. For degrees obtained abroad, the corresponding validation or apostille from the competent authority in the country of origin (consulate, ministry of foreign affairs) must be provided. For degrees obtained in countries not party to the Hague Convention, a signature of the degree from the respective consulate or ministry is acceptable.
2. Resume including at least the following information and supporting documents:
Undergraduate and postgraduate transcripts, if applicable, apostilled if the diploma is not from a Colombian university
Work experience in the education sector or community experience, in the area of ​​natural science education
Attendance at courses, symposia, congresses, etc.
Research experience in the area of ​​science education
Publications in the area of ​​natural science education, with copy.
Awards and distinctions.
3. Submit a written research proposal with social and academic impact, which falls within the field of science education in relation to one of the program's emphases (Environmental Education; Teaching and Learning of Scientific Theories and Concepts; Training of Science Teachers; History, Philosophy and Science Teaching; Interdisciplinarity in Science Teaching –Relationships between Science and Other Disciplines in Teaching; Language and Argumentation in Science Education; STS-A Problem Solving and Socio-Scientific Issues; ICT and Science Teaching), and addressing the following aspects:
General information. Project title, Applicant's name, Area of ​​emphasis under which the project is registered.
Problem statement. It must contain, among other elements, at least the following: Justification (theoretical, practical, methodological), topic, object of study, research question(s).
Approach to the theoretical framework/conceptual horizon.

Presentation protocol: maximum 15 pages with bibliographic references, Times New Roman font, size 11, 1.5 line spacing, letter format and 3 cm margins
